For twenty years people have come here for physical, intellectual, or emotional endeavors. Adults and children have learned to swim and ride bikes, they've taken adventure hikes, tried rock climbing, and learned to cross country ski. Some have learned to write their first cohesive paragraph while others have revised work for publication. Still others have come here to sort out their relationships (no professional help here, just an amazing kitchen), to regroup after crisis, or to simply enjoy the quiet.

Whether you are interested in getting away, working on your writing, or if want to allow yourself the time and support to spend more time being physical and and spending time outdoors, Great Energy is about pleasure, focus, and guilt-free personal indulgence.

Great Energy is in the town of Springville (population 2,000), at an elevation of 1,000 ft, in the foothills of the southern Sierra Nevada Mountains. It is less than three hours north east of Los Angeles; four and a half hours south east of San Francisco. Three miles from Sequoia National Monument, you can hike, ski, cycle, rock climb, or just sit on smooth granite slabs while the Tule river crashes beside you. The small town of Springville has a Post Office, two gas stations and markets, a video store, a couple of antique shops, a hamburger place, a pizza parlor, a Mexican Restaurant and the Springville Inn and Restaurant. Great Energy is surrounded on three sides by cattle land. Guests can leave directly from the house and hike for hours with spectacular views of the High Sierra; and depending on the time of year, one can see the coast range as well.
