Great Energy Sports

Too often the reason people fail at "sports" is that they don't know how to pace themselves; they go too quickly and then burn out. I will teach you to go at a pace that will allow you to go forever (well almost). And if ever your enthusiasm turns out to be stronger than your body and you decide you want to stop early -- I can always sprint home and get the car. Look over the activities and see if there is anything that you used to do that you would like to try again, or anything that you have always wanted to do but have been afraid to try. All can be modified depending on your strength of body and mind. At Great Energy, you can gently learn the joy of using your body.

Many intellectuals have visited Great Energy and have been transformed by the pleasure of riding a bike. One visitor who hadn't been on a bike in years became so inspired that she ended up training for the San Francisco to Los Angeles AIDES ride (she completed the ride two years). Others have enjoyed their experience of skiing so much that they have bought their own gear and now regularly ski on their own. I have to admit that so far only the children that I have taught to climb have gone on to climb without me, but many adults have enjoyed the climbs -- afterwards anyway. If your are not a comfortable swimmer, Great Energy provides the perfect place to develop confidence because of the warm temperature. It's hard to learn when you are cold and tense. In July and August it is so warm that you will want to spend hours swimming; and I bet I will even get you to dive off the diving board and go down the slide before the weekend is over.
